All About Bats!
Bats get a bit of a bad reputation but they have a lot to offer! Did you know they are the only mammal that can fly? They also sleep upside down and see using their ears. Bats eat half of their body weight in insects every night which helps our local agricultural industry.
So get out and see if you can hear some bats in your neighbourhood! But remember:
- Don’t disturb the bats! If you find a bat habitat please be quiet and let them sleep.
- Don’t touch a bat! Like all wild animals they can carry diseases and will defend themselves if they feel threatened.
