In 1959 the Women’s Institute started a library in Chase which they ran for 15 years before the Cariboo-Thompson-Nicola Library System took over the library in June 1974. This library was considered the first new branch of the Cariboo-Thompson-Nicola Library System. However, this library was not sufficient for the needs of the community and it opened in a new building in December 1975.
The Chase library underwent renovations in 2003.
