Book Club Sets from TNRL

Did you know you can borrow book club sets from the library? The TNRL has over 150 sets, each with multiple copies of the same title, discussion questions, and other resources to help make your book club a success. We can’t wait to get back to running book clubs, and hope to have some virtual ones available soon! In the meantime, take a look at a few of the great sets you can place a hold on today:

A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman:
When a lively young family moves in next door, the stiff and irritable Ove’s temper is put to the test. Despite his reputation for being a grump, Ove discovers friendship and humour in this heartwarming story.

The Witches of New York by Ami McKay:
In 1880, two hundred years after the Salem trials, Adelaide and Eleanor open up a tea shop offering unconventional cures for the elite women of Manhattan. Follow Adelaide, Eleanor and Beatrice as they navigate the world of high society, palmistry, potions and secrets.

The Martian by Andy Weir:
When a dust storm hits Mars, the rest of Mark Watney’s astronaut team is forced to evacuate. Mark finds himself stranded alone, armed with just his resourcefulness and a fighting will to live.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë:
Young orphan Jane’s life is far from ideal. Overcoming adversity and social norms of the day, the passionate and outspoken Jane makes a life for herself. Jane Eyre is also in the public domain and is therefore available through Project Gutenberg as an eBook and eAudiobook.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling:
Follow the magical adventures of Harry Potter and his friends at Hogwarts. Until the end of May, you can download this title through Overdrive as an eBook or eAudiobook with no wait!

The Invisible Wall by Harry Bernstein:
In his memoir, Bernstein shares the struggles of growing up with an “invisible wall” separating the Jewish and Christian sides of his town. When he discovers his sister Lily has fallen in love with a boy from across the street, he must grapple with the morals of his youth and what he believes is right.
