Literacy at Home: Books for BC Babies Bag

What’s in the bag?

Every bag includes a high-quality children’s board book and a CD of songs from a children’s performer. You’ll also find a welcome letter and a couple of handy informational pamphlets from the library. This includes a list of recommended reads for babies and toddlers featuring books that are all available for free through the Thompson-Nicola Regional Library. The bag is a great size for toddlers to be able to carry their own books home from the library as well!

How do I get one?

Stop by any Thompson-Nicola Regional Library to pick up your bag, or place a Personal Picks order and ask to have a Books for BC Babies bag included in your order.

In Kamloops, you can also receive a bag when you take your baby for an immunization visit to the Public Health Clinic.

What does it cost?

Nothing! Your Books for BC Babies bag is absolutely free, a gift from your local library to you, to welcome your new baby into the wonderful world of reading.

In Kamloops, we receive support from Literacy in Kamloops to make this program possible. Thank you LinK!

My older child already has one. Do I need one for my new baby?

We change the book and the CD in the bag every year, as well as updating the recommended books on the reading list, so we encourage you to pick up a bag for every new baby as you welcome them into your family! It’s an easy way to keep building your family library.
