Screenwriting Workshop: How to Write the Perfect Ending to Your Script

November 18 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

This Fall our Screenwriter in Residence will be offering four workshops covering different topics on the art of Screenwriting. Participants will get the most out of these workshops by attending all four, but it is not required. Workshops will include 10 movie/TV clips per workshop, in-class writing/brainstorming assignments, Zoom breakout sessions, and handouts on the craft of screenwriting.

Stay tuned for registration details. A virtual option will be available and recorded versions of the workshops will be posted to the library’s website after each date.

Workshop 4: How to Write the Perfect Ending to Your Script

  • Bookends: how to write a final visual that mirrors/matches/contrasts your opening visual
  • Heroes facing certain death!
  • Ambiguous endings and cliffhangers!
  • The importance (or not) of a happy ending
