Screenwriting Workshop: How to Write Comedy that Slays

October 26 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

This Fall our Screenwriter in Residence will be offering four workshops covering different topics on the art of Screenwriting. Participants will get the most out of these workshops by attending all four, but it is not required. Workshops will include 10 movie/TV clips per workshop, in-class writing/brainstorming assignments, Zoom breakout sessions, and handouts on the craft of screenwriting.

Workshop 3: How to Write Comedy That Slays

  • Create obsessive characters
  • Add enemies and obstacles
  • Get your characters negotiating and bargaining with each other
  • Surprise us with fun/ironic reversals

This event will take place via Zoom. A recorded version of the workshop will be posted to the library’s website after the event.
